Hi Susie.  Just saw Sweet Pea and Squirt up close and personal at Janina's Saturday Music Together class.  How lucky for my daughter Keira and I to get a little snippet of your music up close and personal.  We have also been blessed to see Fred and "Bill" the bass too.  I can see the curiousity and intrigue in her face and it is very special indeed.  Kurt Vonnegut Jr. once said that the only proof of God he needed was music.  While I am not particularly religious, this quote resonates deeply within me and my spirituality is awoken whenever I listen to folk music of any kind.  As an amateur guitar player, I love to see music performed especially string heavy music like yours.

My wife Marina nad I hope to see the band at the Coffee Gallery in March.  We have enjoyed several shows there and I can't think of a better value.

Lastly, I have a mountain dulcimer that was a gift many moons ago.  I take it out ocassionally but would really love to learn to play it better.  Can you suggest a basic book for me as a starter?  I read music probably at first grade level meaning I can pick out notes and eventually figure out simple melodies so I suppose something simple and chord centric would be best.

Thanks again for sharing your talent.

Sincerely,

Kevin Grace, Music Together parent, music liver and guitar player.

You guys sound great! Good Job! I'm from East Tennessee near Knoxville and living out here in L.A. now, it's good to hear people keeping our sound alive! I recently picked up the Mandolin and having a blast! I used to play the guitar thumbpicking style like Merle Travis and Chet Atkins, now I love playing Bluegrass! what an amazing journey! I hope to make it to one of your shows soon!

Hi Susie & Steve! How are my favorite local bluegrass musicians doing? I was thinking of you when my husband & I went to the "Crooked Road of VA" concert last night at UCR. I had tears in my eyes listening to Elisabeth LaPrelle who has a haunting voice. Hope this note finds you both well. We're in Riverside so we don't get out your way much, but would love to hear you perform again!

Best regards, Eileen & Rick

I so enjoy your music! It was great to see you at Cal Tech and then later at the Hollywood Bowl with my kids. That miner song haunted me through the recent tragedies in Utah....Hope to see you again. Would love to be on your mailing list. Are you going to be back in the Pasadena area anytime soon? I see that you have been at Bean Town and the Coffee Gallery. I don't frequent those places but I would if you were going to be there. Thank you for sharing your music.
