We had wonderful house concerts during September at Musica del Rio and The Barn in Gilroy. It was a real pleasure to have Glenn Houston of Houston Jones sit in with us to help announce our double bill shows with Houston Jones next summer in Santa Cruz and Berkeley. Stay tuned for announcements about those shows.
The Woodshed Sessions return on October 17 with another helping of new and debut songs from the Hilonesome Band and our guests. Don Raymond joins us in October.

A Remembrance and Fond Farewell: Celebrating the Life of Ron Sutton
We very sadly mark the passing of our dear friend and wonderful sometimes band-made, Ron Sutton, who left us on September 7th. We loved Ron and loved playing with him, as he dazzled us on his fantastic resonator guitar. Ron grew up in the Woodstock area of New York, learning to play the dobro at age 5. At 12 years, his family formed a band called the Bluegrass Cutups, becoming pioneers in the bluegrass folk surge of the 1960's in the Catskill area. They opened for many headliners, including Minnie Pearl, Merle Haggard and Dolly Parton, and were heard on local radio. He also had the privilege to play on stage with Johnny Cash. His musical career included several Woodstock and Los Angeles bluegrass bands, singing, songwriting, and playing the pedal steel guitar in country bands. His good nature, humor and talents will be missed by all of us and we send him Godspeed, and prayers to save us a place. Rest in Peace, friend Ron.
Our October show schedule can be found on the Show Calendar page. Come out and let us see you at a show!
Lots of love from all of us,
